How to Open a Legitimate and Successful Pest Control Business Without Experience
By 2020, the pest control industry will have shattered all historical revenue records. Pests are proliferating and service demand is skyrocketing.
Isn’t it time you got a piece of the pie? Don’t let your inexperience stop you from achieving financial independence in a rewarding industry. You too can own a successful pest control company.
Today’s post explains how to open a pest control business that taps into this thriving market without any experience.
How to open a pest control business with no experience
For self-starters, launching a legitimate and successful pest control business without experience is daunting, if not impossible.
Without the guidance of an established brand, you’ll have to piece together your skill set by paying for various certification courses. In addition to your pest control certifications, you’ll need to develop skills in accounting, marketing, management, and website creation to compete with established brands. Education costs add up quickly, and it can be tough to stay the course when you know you won’t potentially see a return on that investment for years to come.
You’ll also need to secure the trust of your community before you make a real profit. After all, this is a trust-based industry–clients invite you into their homes and businesses, and entrust you with the health and safety of their loved ones, clients, and pets. This can take serious time that some startups simply don’t have. According to the Small Business Association (SBA), 30% of businesses fail within the first six months!
Fortunately, there’s a better way.
By opening your business with Pestmaster (or converting your existing business), you avoid all these pitfalls and eliminate the need for experience. Our 2-week training program and ongoing support services give you all the skills and expertise you need to run a successful and legitimate company. And our national reputation as a Top-100 pest control company will drive business to your door from day one.
How to open a pest control business with Pestmaster:
Step 1 — Contact the Pestmaster team. Once you’re ready to get started, a franchise development specialist will provide a free consultation during which you may ask questions about the opportunity. At the end of the call, you will be asked to fill out a pre-application confidential questionnaire, and next steps will be reviewed.
Step 2 — Submit your completed questionnaire. Your questionnaire responses help us get to know you and determine where to start in the evaluation process.
Step 3 — Complete the mutual evaluation process and review the FDD. It’s time to really get to know each other. We schedule a conference call with our president and founder, Jeff Van Diepen. Jeff will detail the Pestmaster opportunity and our history as a Top-100 pest control company. If you like what you hear and want to proceed, you’ll receive a copy of our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) to review. The FDD contains important information like turnover rates, costs and fees, and franchise profitability. Once you’ve had a look, we’ll schedule another call where you can address any questions.
Step 4 — Complete the vetting process and meet the team. Once you’ve completed the final stages of our vetting process, which includes a soft credit check and background review, you’ll be invited to meet the team at the Pestmaster Services headquarters in Reno, Nevada. There you’ll meet the team, get a tour, and immerse yourself in our company culture. You may sign the Franchise Agreement at this stage if you choose to do so. This is also the point at which we start to create your franchise territory.
Step 5 — Start your training. Once the agreement is signed and all fees have been submitted, you’ll jump right into our unparalleled training program. This includes one full week in Reno and one full week in your selected territory. All training is conducted personally by our president, Jeff Van Diepen.
Step 6 — Start making money! On average, our franchisees open their doors for business within 3 to 6 weeks of signing the Franchise Agreement.
