How long does it take to be in operation once the franchise agreement is signed?

Typically, it takes a minimum of three week (two for training) on the short end and up to six weeks depending on the scale of the franchise, equipment, vehicles and initial hiring of employees.

Can I purchase multiple territories initially, or in the future?

If you plan to operate out of your home initially and be the owner operator, we recommend that you start small and build up, but you are able to purchase more than one territory initially and in the future.

Can I purchase a Pestmaster franchise without the proper license, or industry experience?

Yes. Pestmaster offers an extensive training program designed to get you up and running in just a few weeks. We can also assist in connecting you with a qualified licensee that you can work under (only the license) until you secure your own license.

How big is a franchise territory?

Each territory is about 250,000 in population. It may be several counties in size, or a portion of a metro area, depending on density of population.

Will I have to hire salaried employees?

The rate you hire employees is determined by the rate of growth of your franchise. Most start of as a single person operation and operate from their home. Others will start with a sales associate and an office support person.

How long is Pestmaster training program?

There is an initial training period of two weeks. The first week will be at our corporate office in Reno, Nevada and the second week will be onsite in your territory. There is also ongoing training that will be offered three times a year in various locations.

What type of vehicle is required?

Any late model (white) pickup truck, or service van with a national brand wrap.

What equipment do I need to purchase in order to get started?

There is minimal equipment needed to get up and running. Initial equipment may include a vehicle, backpack spray unit, uniforms and materials such as chemicals, monitors and bait stations.

How long before I have an office outside my home?

That depends on the speed of growth. If you receive significant government contracts, are coachable and you follow our model of success, that time will be significantly shorter. Typically, most are out of the home within the first 9 to 18 months.

Am I required to purchase equipment and supplies through Pestmaster?

There is no requirement to purchase any materials or equipment directly from Pestmaster. We can connect you with the regional representatives for both equipment and chemicals.

How will I attract customers?

Leads are generated in various ways to include Internet, Social media, Radio, Word-of-mouth and Direct mail. Pestmasters national website is also a lead generation tool for our franchisees. This will be covered in your training.

How do I obtain the required license to start a pest control franchise?

Each state is different in what they require, but most states require a Commercial Applicators license, which usually requires one to two years in the field working under a qualified license. Pestmaster can assist you with connecting you with qualified license holders. All negotiations for cost of using the qualified license are negotiated directly by you and the license holder.

Dr. Stuart Mitchell | BCE

I’ve been in the industry for years and I can’t tell you just how valuable the Pestmaster franchise opportunity really is. I have much greater access to identifying and getting potent government contracts with the help and assistance from the corporate office. We would not be nearly as successful as we are today, had we not purchased a Pestmaster Franchise.

Pestmaster® has been the best investment I’ve ever made in my life!

Barrett Alley | Pestmaster of Kingston, NY

We had options, but if we hadn’t decided on a Pestmaster franchise, we could not have gone from just one to several employees in less than one year of purchasing the franchise. Without the franchise, we would not have known about the high-dollar pest control services opportunities such as West Point Academy and we would certainly not have become the successful contract bidder that we are today.

Paul Alley | Pestmaster of Kingston, NY

I owned my own small pest control business for six years before I decided to buy a national brand franchise. The amount of business I was able to produce in those six years was doubled in just my first year with Pestmaster. Joining the Pestmaster brand was an excellent choice for me and for the future of my business.

Chris Nelson | Pestmaster of Salt Lake City, UT

I knew I was ready to start a business and looked for a long time but could not find my value-added proposition What could I do better than anyone else to distinguish me from the others in any industry? I have always been a technical person, so I was not confident in my ability to start a brand and market it. I also didn’t want to start from zero without help and support in my new adventure. For these reasons I looked into franchising opportunities and quickly found Pestmaster. They provided the value-added proposition, branding, marketing and support that I was looking for. The business model works and the people in the PFN will help you succeed.

Jerome Snyder | Pestmaster of Central New York

The Pestmaster Franchise Network has enabled me to secure government contracts and group pricing with several vendors. The training from our entomologist and combined experience is incredibly valuable. It is a great network of knowledge, experience, and Camaraderie.”
